imo.im for Android adds NFC and location sharing

imo instant messenger is arguably the best IM app for Android, with support for all the popular protocols such as Facebook, Skype, Jabber, Google Talk and others, it’s feature-rich while being light on memory usage.

The latest update brings some interesting new connectivity features to play, including NFC profile sharing for compatible devices. The idea is simple: if you and a friend are both using the app, you can share contact details by tapping your phones against one another. NFC automatically kicks in (provided it’s on) and does the work.

You can also share your location with your contacts, and the world, using the built-in location sharing. This is nothing new, but if you’re trying to let a friend locate you in a big space, this is essential.
