WIND Mobile names Pietro Cordova as new COO

Over the past few years WIND Mobile has seen its fair share of high level executives. The carrier was dreamed up by WIND Chaiman Tony Lacavera. Initially it was Ken Campbell who led WIND through the first couple years, but he gracefully departed to become the CEO of Tunisiana. At the time Lacavera stepped in as CEO and Gianluca Corti was brought on from WIND Italy to become the new COO.

Now, Corti has bolted to head up the business unit of Wind Telecomunicazioni. Succeeding Corti is Pietro Cordova, who’s been with WIND is various capacities since 2005. According to the press release Cordova will “continue to focus on the same successful strategy that has seen WIND Mobile move closer to becoming Canada’s fourth-largest national wireless carrier, with current population coverage of more than 13.1 million people. That strategy includes focusing on postpaid wireless customers, ensuring the highest-levels of network quality, and delivering industry-leading customer care.”

At last count WIND Mobile had 430,000 wireless subscribers.
