Toshiba delays Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Thrive 10” and 7” until “early fall”

If you’ve purchased one of Toshiba’s Thrive tablets – either to 7-inch or 10-inch – you’ve probably been wondering when the official upgrade to Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will happen. Well, Toshiba has posted news on their forum and it’s not what you want to hear. Bottom line: delayed.

Here’s the official statement from Toshiba:

“We are working hard to bring Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich to our Thrive tablets. While we originally estimated it would be ready this spring, we now estimate the update will be delivered to all Thrive 10” and 7” tablets by early fall. Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

Patience, Canadians. Thankfully Toshiba will be launching new ICS within the next few weeks. The AT270 and AT330 are just around the corner.
