Microsoft is about to officially announce their new mobile platform: Windows Phone 7. We can expect some of the devices mentioned today to hit Canadian soil at the same time as the United States. We’ll be covering the event live as it happens and you can also check it out here over at Microsoft (link here). The fun starts at 9:30am.
Update #1: It now seems Microsoft has pushed back the start time to 9:40am. So you have a bit more time grab a coffee.
Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer took the stage “I’ve been looking forward to this for… some time!… We hope you’ll see how Windows Phone is different. We want to focus on two things: always delightful, and wonderfully mine.”
“We have a beautiful lineup in this first wave of Windows Phone 7 handsets. Microsoft and its partners are delivering a different kind of mobile phone and experience – one that makes everyday tasks faster by getting more done in fewer steps and providing timely information in a ‘glance and go’ format.”
