Apple has announced a new feature coming to iOS 17 called ‘Standby’ that turns your iPhone into a smart display-like device. This feature is similar to what Google offers with its Pixel smartphones and the Pixel Stand.
Standby works by turning your iPhone on its side while it’s charging. You’ll then see the screen turn into a clock, and by swiping on the display, you can access information like the temperature and your calendar. You can also use Widget-based smart stacks and live activities with Standby.
Apple says the feature lets you track sports live and turn on Siri.
The feature will launch alongside iOS 17.
