A month ago WIND Mobile reported their Q2 2012 subscriber numbers reached 456,886. Now a few weeks later it seems their back-to-school promos and new device launches were very successful as they just announced surpassing the 500,000 subscriber milestone.
WIND Mobile launched their Unlimited Talk, Text and Data services on December 16th, 2009, then was hit with a number of setbacks, such as the amount of foreign investment they had, but everything cleared up in April when the Supreme Court of Canada declared they are in complete compliance with the ownership rules in the Telecom Act.
Tony Lacavera, CEO of WIND Mobile, said “We’ve worked hard to get to where we are today and I’m so proud of our team and everything we’ve been able to accomplish together. The road wasn’t always easy but we are well on our way of achieving our goal of becoming Canada’s fourth national carrier.”
Apparently the end of the year goal is to reach the 600,000 subscriber mark.
