OnePlus is going to sell an Avengers-branded smartphone later this year.
The phone, which is inspired by April 27th’s Avengers: Infinity War film, was first reported on by Deadline Hollywood who claimed that the phone will be packing a Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The company’s CEO Pete Lau posted in the OnePlus 6 forms on April 3rd confirming the specifications of the new phone, which lines up with the specs mentioned in the Deadline Hollywood report.
It stands to reason that the OnePlus 6 will have a special version that is branded with some sort of Avengers content.
This collaboration was also teased on OnePlus’s Facebook page in India with a short video that has since been deleted from Facebook.
So far, unconfirmed reports say that the phone will be coming to the U.K., but since the only recorded teaser has been one removed video on a OnePlus Facebook page its hard to pinpoint exactly what countries will be receiving the phone. We’ve reached out to OnePlus to see if the phone will come to Canada and will update this article with a response.
Branding deals with Disney are nothing new for the phone manufacturer who last year released a Star Wars: The Last Jedi branded 5T in India and a select few European countries.
Update 11/04/2018: OnePlus has responded to MobileSyrup’s questions to make it clear that the locations that were reported to get the Avengers phone are just reports and have not been confirmed by OnePlus. The article has been updated to reflect this fact.
