Twitter for Android updated with Material Design

Twitter has announced its native app has been overhauled with a “revamped look and feel” in order to move its aesthetic in line with Android’s Material Design guidelines.

Some notable changes Android users will likely notice is the Tab navigation bar now has swipe functionality, making it easier to move between Home, Notifications, Direct Messages, and Moments. In addition, the Navigation menu slides out from the side to reveal user profiles, Highlights, lists, the Connect tab, and settings. In an effort to boost engagements, Twitter has also embedded a new floating action button on the bottom right of the display.
