Xreal is announcing that reservations for Xreal Aura have surpassed 10,000 globally, showing that people, besides myself, are very interested in this next-generation of smartglasses.
The initial $99 (C$136) reservation offer for a $199 (C$274) credit at launch has already sold out; however, you can still reserve early access with a US$199 (C$274) deposit.
Xreal is working with Qualcomm on the launch of the Xreal Aura with the company’s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform. Xreal is also working with Google using Android XR as the operating system with Google Gemini front and centre.
I tried out the Xreal Aura at Google I/O earlier this year, and running the Android XR platform with smartglasses felt like the next step in VR/XR headsets. I was a big fan, and you can read about it here.
We’re still waiting to learn pricing and availability, but Xreal says they’ll share this information soon. Visit Xreal’s website for details about the smartglasses and to reserve the Xreal Aura.
