Google’s Pixel Buds lineup is getting a big update. With the rollout of software release 6.144, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Buds 2a are getting improved noise cancellation, Live Translate, and more.

Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation is coming to the Pixel Buds Pro 2; it now lets you automatically adjust audio or noise cancellation based on your ear seal.

Enhanced Live Translate is available with a simple touch on the earbuds. You’re able to leave your phone in your pocket and start translating with the Google Translate app available on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a.

You’re also able to change audio settings with your voice by using Gemini voice commands. You can turn on ANC, adjust your EQ, or enable touch controls. This is available on both Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a. You can also mute and unmute your microphone directly from the buds, and this is also available on both Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a.

And lastly, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Buds 2a will now have auto-pause media while sleeping. This is only available if you have a Pixel Watch too, which has a sleep sensing feature. When you fall asleep, your smartwatch will tell your Buds to stop audio playback, turn off touch gestures and silence notifications.
