New AirPods Pro 3 have heart rate tracking and live translation

These new buds also have a smaller, more pocketable charging case

Like the AirPods 4 refresh last year, Apple has shrunk down the size of the AirPods Pro 3 and added in new features like custom acoustics that widen the soundstage and improve bass response.

Apple also says that this will help voices sound clearer. To help isolate it all, Apple has doubled the ANC performance and changed the tips to include more foam. The company even says that these new earbuds offer 4x the ANC over the first AirPods Pro.

The transparency mode has also been upgraded to sound more natural. It now includes live translation powered by Apple Intelligence, so you can wear your earbuds and understand the voices around you. The company even says that this can translate the meaning of the phrases instead of being a direct translation of the words.

The new AirPods Pro 3 have been altered ever so slightly to fit better in each user’s ear. This new one is smaller, and Apple says it better matches the geometry of most ear canals. There are also five ear tip sizes to help each user tailor the bud to their ear.

If you want to work out with them and get sweaty, the earbuds have an IP57 rating. This allows for some water resistance, but they can’t be submerged.

Like the Powerbeats Pro earbuds from last year, the new AirPods Pro have a sensor that tracks heart rate. Apple says you can use the Fitness app with this new sensor, and 50 workouts will support it.

The cherry on top is that these new buds will have eight hours of listening while using ANC. This is two hours more than the previous generation.

The price hasn’t changed, so they should still be $329 in Canada.
