Montreal-developed Mini Guns gets new ARKit features on iPhone and iPad

Mini Guns

Mini Guns, one of the first Canadian-developed games to take advantage of ARKit, the tech giant’s recently released mobile augmented reality development kit, now includes new AR features on both iOS and iPad.

The free-to-play RTS title allows players to battle in real-time against both AI and local opponents.

“As we were getting experience with Apple’s ARKit and realized the potential of shaping a great experience with Mini Guns, we went all in. The ARKit is brilliantly simple to work with and easy to manipulate and a project we thought would take months has been completed in just a matter of weeks,” said Mini Guns lead developer Nicolas Babin in a statement sent to MobileSyrup.

Montreal-based Riposte Game & Co, says that the game has also been optimized for the iPhone X’s unique edge-to-edge notched display.

Mini Guns, which seems to take at least some inspiration from the classic Advanced Wars series, features some of the most details visuals I’ve seen so far when it comes to Apple’s ARKit platform. I’ve yet to to spend significant time with the game, but the new AR features seem to work great.

We’ll have more on Riposte Game & Co’s Mini Guns in the coming days.

Mini Guns is available in the iOS App Store for free.
