BlackBerry cuts price of Priv to $599 unlocked, Amazon $399 CAD

The BlackBerry Priv launched in Canada on November 6th, 2015 and was the company’s first Android smartphone. Now, a year later, BlackBerry has added the DTEK50 and DTEK60 to its lineup and named them the most secure Android devices on the planet.

As with all things in the tech space, older devices receive a price reduction to clear out inventory. The Priv was originally available for $899 CAD, then dropped to $399 during the company’s Black Friday sale of $399 CAD. It now seems the security-focussed manufacturer has permanently cut the cost of the device to $599 CAD unlocked.

However, for those interested in the Priv, there are deeper discounts to be found on Amazon Canada, which is currently selling it for $399 CAD until December 5th.
