Leak reveals HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle specs and September release date

The mobile world’s foremost leaker, Evan Blass, has revealed details about one of a pair of mid-range Desire handsets in production at HTC that are due for release by the end of September.

Blass, according to his sources, says the newest Desire smartphones will be branded in line with 2016’s HTC 10, titled the HTC Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle. The VentureBeat editor states he was only briefed on the latter device, which is lower specced than its sibling.

In an article for VentureBeat, Blass says the 5.5-inch Desire 10 Lifestyle will run on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor — he’s unsure of the exact model. It has a 720p display and comes in two different memory configurations — 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM, and 2GB RAM to 16GB ROM.

The article also states that the rear shooter on the Desire 10 Lifestyle is likely to carry a 13-megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor and single LED flash, while the front-facing camera is a 5-megapixel with BSI technology. Both are capable of 1080p recording.

As for sound, the device will have Boomsound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers with 24-bit system audio.

Both handsets will come in multiple colours, with matte finishes unlike the speckled Desire 530 which debuted earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress. What’s more, the Desire 10 Lifestyle will feature a metallic gold trim around the edges and around hardware aspects such as the camera and antenna cutouts.

Blass states he didn’t secure pricing details, but that the handset will purportedly launch at the end of September. Only time will tell whether the smartphone will come to Canada, though if the HTC Desire 530 is any indication, there’s a chance it will — at least eventually.
