Microsoft opens up survey for interested Cortana iOS beta testers

Cortana

The voice assistant wars are heating up. Between Google Voice, Cortana and Siri, the voice-activated battle is definitely in full swing.

In typical fashion, Google’s voice technology is already included in every Android device (and on the web), Apple’s Siri can be found on Apple devices (except Macs), and Microsoft’s Cortana is on Windows 10, Windows Phone 8.1, and has been in public beta on Android since the summer. Cortana is also set to be included in Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile.

Today, though, Cortana is taking another step towards ubiquity, by launching an iOS beta program. The company is taking applications from interested Apple Insider Program members for the beta.

The program will initially be limited to users in the U.S. and China, but people from other regions are still able to apply. Cortana’s iOS beta currently allows voice searches and will soon support reminders, calendar events, and email.

Microsoft plans to launch Cortana’s beta program at some point in the next few weeks, so opting in now is likely your best chance at getting in.
