Alternative custom ROM MIUI has released standalone launchers for both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich (with different features for each one) that brings the brand to the non-root crowd. While the functionality only extends as far as the launcher — the place on which you place widgets and app icons — it is quite full-featured and looks great.
One of the main draws of MIUI Launcher is the extensible theme collection, which has been expanding for a while now and sits at over a thousand choices (some more garish than others, though). The ICS version also supports theming the lock screen, much like WidgetLocker.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the excellent ADW EX/Nova Launcher/Apex Launcher trifecta, take a look at MIUI.
