If you’re in the West Coast of Canada you might have noticed a challenge this weekend buying a TELUS device. The company is in the process of upgrading their computer systems and majority of TELUS locations are closed – or unable to process activations.
“As you are now aware TELUS systems will be down April 6 12:00am ET to April 8 11:00am ET (April 5 9:00pm PT to April 8 8:00am PT) in order to provide clients with a better experience. We are upgrading our systems in the West to allow the ability to bundle TELUS wireless and FFH services. Unfortunately there is no way to accomplish this without shutting down all systems.”
To thank customers for their patience TELUS is offering up a $100 discount off a “device of their choice” when they sign up on a 3-year contract. As stated above, everything will be back at 8:00am PT tomorrow… holding out another day will save you $100.
Update: According to some additional emails we’ve received it looks like system upgrade is across Canada.
