BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 show up on HTML 5 test site

Two upcoming mobile platforms have arrived on the HTML5 test site and both scored impressive results. HTML5test.com is used as a benchmark to show how specific browsers support HTML5 specifications (tablets, mobile phones, televisions and desktop). Under the “development or beta” in mobile phones are RIM’s BlackBerry 10 and Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8. BlackBerry 10 will be shown off at the upcoming BlackBerry World 2012 conference in May, HTML 5 results show that they scored 361, completely destroying Apple’s iOS (305) and even their currently BlackBerry 7 OS, which had a score of 266. As for Windows Phone 8, potentially becoming available in October, scored 298. Google’s Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich scored 256, but their Chrome Beta for Android hit 343.

The good news is that manufacturers are currently testing devices and would be remarkable if RIM’s BlackBerry 10 smartphones came out on top.
