With a quick Tweet yesterday that stated “New #BlackBerry devices are coming w/ our new OS, BlackBerry 7! Check back tmrw 4 deets”, the internet went rabid on RIM possibly bringing some good news about future devices. Although it’s expected that the BlackBerry Torch2 9810 and Torch 9850, 9860 will be officially unveiled, nothing has shown up yet. In the meantime a new contest has been created to get the hype started.
The Twitter hashtag #BB7FanNight is for an event of some sorts that is happening in Toronto on August 3rd. You can enter the contest here at RIM and all you have to do is “Tweet 7 words about how #BlackBerry helps u on the go or makes u more social”. Up for grabs is a new unnamed BlackBerry device that runs OS 7, along with and invite to the event for you and a couple buddies. Pretty sweet.
Reading over the Terms and Conditions in the contest section states: “There are forty (40) prize packs available to be won (each a “Prize”). Each Prize includes: (i) one (1) BlackBerry® OS 7 smartphone device to be selected at the Event by the Winner and shipped to the Winner once available for sale in Canada; (ii) three (3) BlackBerry prize packs which include BlackBerry branded merchandise and (iii) three (3) total tickets – one (1) for the Winner and up to two (2) guests to the Event. The approximate retail value of each Prize is USD$650.00.”
