The newest Android to hit Canadian soil will be on Monday with the HTC Incredible hitting Bell and Virgin stores (a SaskTel release will follow). This Android-powered device will be launching with OS 2.2 Froyo but it’s not stopping there. About 5 weeks ago an HTC spokesperson stated that “We are excited to announce that the Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S will receive the Gingerbread update in Q2”. In addition, taking a look at this internal doc regarding the upcoming Virgin release confirms that “There is an Android OS 2.3 update planned for the Incredible S”. Certainly good news for those who are picking this phone up but unfortunately there’s no firm date given.
