Google’s Android platform has quickly been adopted by many manufactures. Their Android Market doesn’t compare to the size of Apple’s App Store but is slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with. As more devices are launched, more people will have access to getting free or paid apps.
The guys over at Android Lib are continually keeping track of the growth of the Android Market and they state that an average of 96 apps are being downloaded per second. In addition, on a monthly basis there’s about 17,000 new apps being submitted… which will take the total number of apps to eclipse 140,000 sometime this month.
