Sony Ericsson has unveiled 2 new devices and a headset as part of their new GreenHeart initiative. One of the major stands Sony Ericsson is taking with GreenHeart is that you can make environmentally friendly devices that are innovative that doesn’t compromise its design.
All GreenHeart products will have an electronic in-phone manual (replaces the standard paper version and saves over 90% in paper alone), made with a minimum of 50% recycled plastics during production, less packaging and comes with 5 star energy efficient chargers.
The two flagship products are the C901 GreenHeart and Naite, plus the MH300 GreenHeart headset. No word on when these will hit the Canadian market but we are seeing more manufacturers developing more sustainable and green devices.
C901 GreenHeart has a 5 megapixel camera with built-in Xenon flash, 6x digital zoom with video capabilities. Plus it comes with Smile Shutter, Face Detection and one-click image uploading to post your pics to the web. The overall dimensions are 105 x 45 x 13mm and weighs in at 107 grams. The scratch-resistant screen is 2.2 inches (resolution of 240 x 320) and will be come in the colour “Ocean White”.
Other features of the C901 is the music player, FM radio, Bluetooth, Speakerphone, Video calling, Email, Picture messaging (MMS), Text Messagng (Predictive text) and IM, YouTube, Geo tagging of photos, Google Maps and your standard contacts, calendar, calculator, stopwatch.
The C901 GreenHeart supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSPA 900/2100. The C901 GreenHeart and will be available in selected markets from Q2.
Naite has an overall size of 108 x 47 x 12.6 mm and weights only 84 grams. This will come in “Vapour Silver” or “Ginger Red”. The QVGA screen is 2.2 inches with a resolution of 240 x 320. This will come with a 2.0 megapixel camera, up to 2.5x digital zoom. Other key features of the Naite (pronounced “nigh-tee”) is the music player, FM radio, Google search when surfing the web, Video calling and Speakerphone, Email, Text (Predictive text), picture and Instant messaging, Bluetooth, Google Maps. Plus your standard contacts, calendar, calculator, stopwatch.
Naite supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100 and will be available in selected markets from Q3.
