Update: iPhone 5s now available to order online via Apple, shipping slips to October


Update (Saturday, September 21st): Apple has updated their site to show all versions and colours of the iPhone 5s with a shipping date of “October.” Best thing to do is call your local Apple store, retail outlet, or carrier to see if there’s stock.

Update 3:01am EST – Apple has just gone live with iPhone 5s online orders in Canada. The colour options are silver, gold and the new ‘space grey’ in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Pricing is as follows:

– 16GB: $719 (outright)
– 32GB: $819 (outright)
– 64GB: $919 (outright)

Update #2 (3:10am): Gold is now shipping in October, while the others are all ‘between 7-10 days’.


Update #3: TELUS has also gone live with iPhone 5S pre-orders. Pricing is the following:

– 16GB: $229 (2-year contract)
– 32GB: $329 (2-year contract)
– 64GB: $439 (2-year contract)
– 16GB: $719 (outright)
– 32GB: $819 (outright)
– 64GB: $919 (outright)

Shipping times vary – silver and space grey are between 1-3 business days (October 4th and October 9th), but the Gold is “Limited Stock available for Gold devices, please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.”

Apple sent out a press release this morning reminding us that the new iPhones will officially be available on Friday, September 20th. While the colourful iPhone 5c has been available for pre-order for days, the updated iPhone 5s will first go on sale online at 3:01am EST, then in-stores at 8:00am.

“Apple today announced that iPhone 5s, the most forward-thinking smartphone in the world and iPhone 5c, the most colourful iPhone yet, will be available to customers on Friday, September 20 at 8:00 a.m. local time at Apple retail stores and at 3:01 a.m. EDT at the Apple Online Store”

In addition, Apple confirmed the carrier pricing for the 5s at the “suggested retail price of $229.95 (CAD) for the 16GB model and $329.95 (CAD) for the 32GB model and $439.95 (CAD) for the 64GB model,” plus that eager Canadians will be able to activate through “Bell, Rogers, Telus, Virgin mobile, Fido, Koodo mobile and select Best Buy, Future Shop, Target and Walmart stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.”
