PlayStation 5 launching in Canada on November 12 for $629

Pricing for the all-digital console has also been confirmed

During its PlayStation 5 Showcase, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 5 will launch on November 12th, 2020 in Canada.

Now, the company has confirmed Canadian pricing for the console via its official PlayStation Canada Twitter page.

The standard Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive-equipped console will cost $629.99 CAD, while the all-digital model will be priced at $499.99 CAD.

Sony has also confirmed that Canadian retailers will begin taking pre-orders for the console starting September 16th. Some of these retailers so far include EB Games, Best Buy and Walmart. For context, Microsoft will begin taking pre-orders for its two next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X and Series S, on September 22nd.

Additionally, Sony has revealed that some PS5 games, including launch titles Demon’s Souls and Destruction AllStars, will be priced at $89.99 in Canada. This is $10 more than what PS4 games cost.

Meanwhile, here is Canadian pricing for PS5 accessories:

  • DualSense Wireless Controller (standalone) — $89.99
  • DualSense Charging Station (supports two DualSense controllers) — $39.99
  • Pulse 3D wireless headset with 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones — $129.99
  • HD Camera with dual 1080p lenses for gamers to broadcast themselves and their gameplay — $79.99
  • Media Remote to navigate movies and streaming services — $39.99
