YouTube for iOS and Android now supports 60fps video playback

“HFR FTW,” said YouTube on its blog. The Google-owned video service first brought 60 frames per second streaming video to desktop users in October, and now the feature has arrived on the YouTube app for iOS and Android. The company noted users can watch videos at high frame rate but must meet the following requirements on either Android or iOS:

Android: 720p capable device running Android 4.1 or later, using YouTube app v10.18 or later
iOS: Any device with iOS6 or later, using the YouTube app v.2.2 or later
