TELUS rolling out Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for 2014 Moto X

Motorola hasn’t had the most auspicious day when it comes to update reliability, but the company has announced that it is going ahead with its full Android 5.0.1 rollout for the TELUS Moto X 2014.

After a brief soak test back in December (which caused none of the ill effects of today’s WIND equivalent), TELUS has gone ahead with the over-the-air update to Lollipop.

TELUS customers should feel fully comfortable updating to Lollipop, despite what’s happened with WIND’s customers today. It’s a different piece of hardware and a completely different software build.

Once the update goes through, Motorola users will be able to enjoy the new lockscreen features, including a blend of Moto Display and Lollipop’s default lockscreen notifications; a new multitasking bar; improved performance from the ART runtime; a brand new notification shade and quick settings menu; and lots more.
