Snap is launching some pretty cool smartglasses, but they aren’t coming to Canada. Still, I’m excited to see what the company has cooked up after several years of testing and expanding since their last consumer product. I’ve tried on Specs Spectacles over the last few years, and I’ve always been impressed.

The Specs don’t have a tether or a puck and have their own AI and see-through lens that bring a different experience and AI to your display. The Specs Intelligence service only works with iOS and Mac. Specs Intelligence can organize goals, routines and schedules without waiting for a prompt.
The Specs have AR experiences, like entertainment, education, work, shopping, translation, navigation, fitness and more. You can take pictures, but the center of the frames lights up or flashes to let people know you’re recording. They can play music, see your notifications, play basketball, look at a star map, and more.
The smartglasses have hand and voice controls and start at US$2,195 (C$3,07).
