Quebecor’s Videotron has added a new “Price for Life” guarantee to its mobile plans.
On a webpage dedicated to the feature, Videotron promotes its “Stability, Transparency, and Quality” and uses the tagline “Say goodbye to unexpected rate fluctuations on your Mobile Plan!”
Videotron’s price guarantee says that “the base rate (before any discounts or credits) of your Residential Mobile plans will not increase during the course of the subscription” and remains “valid as long as the customer maintains their subscription.” However, Videotron notes that this only applies to the base rate of the plan, and doesn’t apply to other charges like taxes or fees for things like roaming or 911 services.
Now, price lock is nice, but it’s not a revolutionary feature. With this price lock, Videotron is following in the footsteps of several other wireless providers. Rogers started offering price lock on select plans back in April, and Telus did the same back in July 2025. Meanwhile, fellow Quebecor-owned wireless brand Freedom Mobile, which has offered a ‘Price Freeze Promise’ for a long time.
Like Freedom, Videotron is offering the new price lock feature on all of its plans. It’s advertised in a little yellow block below each of the carrier’s plans. Honestly, although Videotron isn’t as notorious for jacking up rates as the big three, it still is a nice feature to have just in case it ever happens.

- Talk and Text plan — $30/mo unlimited talk/text in Canada and the US
- $49/25GB across Canada and the US, unlimited Canada/US-wide talk/text
- $60/150GB across Canada and the US, unlimited Canada/US-wide talk/text
- $50/100GB across Canada and the US, unlimited Canada/US-wide talk/text
- $75/100GB across 110 destinations, unlimited talk/text to those destinations, and within/to Canada
- $70/200GB across Canada/US/Mexico, unlimited talk/text to those countries
It’s worth noting that each plan includes free 5G+ network access, and some plans (200GB CAN/US/MEX, 25GB, 100GB CAN/US) offer a $5/mo discount.
