Public Mobile offering 10GB bonus data on select plans

Telus-owned Public Mobile is offering a special deal with bonus data on select plans for Family Day weekend.

Customers can get 10GB of bonus data on select plans until Feb. 16 with Public’s new deal. The discount plans are as follows:

• $35/30GB + 10GB bonus Canada-wide 5G
• $40/60GB + 10GB bonus CAN/US/MEX 5G
• $50/80GB + 10GB bonus CAN/US/MEX 5G
• $60/100GB + 10GB bonus CAN/US/MEX 5G

The bonus data is certainly a nice addition, bringing some extra value to Public’s plans. However, it’s worth noting this isn’t the best deal we’ve seen from Public this year.

Back at the end of January, Public offered 50 per cent off some plans for a few days, meaning customers could get plans like $20/40GB or $30/100GB with North American roaming.

Unfortunately, Public also doesn’t appear to be offering the data bonus to existing customers, though some might have other offers available through the company’s self-serve portal. When I checked my Public account, it offered me $40/80GB and $50/100GB 5G plans with North American roaming, both of which are slightly better than the in-market deals. (Though, I’ll be skipping these because my current Public plan is $35/75GB CAN/US/MEX and I really don’t need to pay more for more data I won’t use.)

Anyway, if you missed out on Public’s last decent sale, this data bonus offer isn’t too bad. Public’s plans are still some of the best value options out there.
