HTC Taiwan’s Facebook page reveals new U12+ images

HTC U11 on the back

Photos revealed by HTC Taiwan’s Facebook page have given us another look at the manufacture’s upcoming U12+

It’s unclear if the phone features a glass or metal rear, however, its backing looks similar to the Sony XZ2’s.

Additionally, the images reveal both a dual rear camera, a dual selfie shooter setup and a dual LED flash on the back placed above a rear fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the photos show off the device’s 18:9 aspect ratio, though HTC has not officially disclosed the exact size of the display.

HTC U12 Leaks

Rumours point to a 5.99-inch LCD Quad HD+ screen with a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM, 3,420mAh battery and up to 128GB of storage. The phone will also feature HTC’s own face recognition software as well as the Edge Sense functionality, allowing users to open apps by squeezing the phone’s frame.

Past leaks indicate the rear camera setup includes a 16-megapixel and 12-megapixel pairing, while the front features two 8-megapixel sensors. Further rumours claim HTC will forego the U12 brand for the U12+ name to better compete with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S9+.

Another similarity the phone has with the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is its lack of iPhone X-style notch.
