A video of the HTC U11 Plus and HTC U11 Life has leaked ahead of its November 2nd launch, following the same pattern that occured earlier this year for the HTC U11.
Like before, a hands-on of the HTC U11 Plus translucent colour and the HTC U11 Life was accidentally posted to Facebook and spotted by Phandroid. While the official video was taken down, it was quickly re-uploaded to YouTube for the world to see.
If you look closely at the HTC U11 Plus you can see a coil underneath its translucent shell that could potentially be for NFC. The HTC U11 Plus will come in black, silver and translucent, as first revealed by prolific leaker Evan Blass. The video also confirms the U11 Plus will have a 6-inch display, 4,000mAh and 128GB of internal storage, though it’s unclear if there will be more storage options.
Previous rumours point to the handset having a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear facing camera (seen on the U11) and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
Meanwhile, the U11 Life mid-range phone will feature a 5.2-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, NFC, 16-megapixel front and rear camera, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage according to specs leaked by T-Mobile.
Both devices have Edge Sense, the U11’s squeezable functionality. In the video, Edge Sense is seen to open a rotary app tray. The device also has an IP67 water resistance rating.
The U11 Plus is expected to feature Android 8.0 Oreo, while the mid-range variant will have the older Android 7.1.1 Nougat, both with the HTC Sense user interface (UI) running over top.
According to the video, the U11 Plus will cost $849 Swiss Francs ($1093.46 CAD) and the U11 Life will cost $349 Swiss Francs ($449.49 CAD)
Both the Life and Plus are to be unveiled November 2nd at 1:30am EST. Currently we’re unsure of Canadian availability and pricing, but stay tuned to MobileSyrup to find out.
