Sony today kicked off the mobile segment of its IFA press conference with wearables. The company debuted the SmartBand Talk, a version of its SmartBand fitness band that takes the device one step closer to smartwatch territory.
The SmartBand Talk boasts a new e-ink display for notifications ad allows you to to take and make calls from your wrist thanks to an integrated microphone. It based on a 32-bit ARM processor, has built in NFC and Bluetooth, and is OP68 rated.
Compatible with Android 4.4 and above, the SmartBand Talk will launch in October priced at €160, which is about $210. No doubt that price will come down when the device launches in the United States and Canada, as that price would put it at over $200 in North America.
