Apple’s iOS 18.1 update, which packs several of the company’s forthcoming Apple Intelligence features, has moved to public beta, meaning anyone can try (as long as they’re willing to install beta software).
iOS 18.1 launched for developers back in July but with the new public beta release, it’s more accessible to people. And by extension, Apple Intelligence features are now more accessible, though you still need an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 model to use the features. Moreover, the features are still tied to U.S. English, so you’ll need to make sure your phone is set to use that.
Per Android Authority, the iOS 18.1 beta includes Writing Tools, Clean Up in Photos, Reduce Interruptions Focus mode, notification summaries, and possibly some other Apple Intelligence features. However, the Siri ChatGPT integration, Image Playground, and Genmoji features are expected to come later as part of iOS 18.2.
Those willing to try beta software can follow the steps on Apple’s website to get iOS 18.1 on their phone.
