A new pair of smart shades are up for pre-order right now and they’re called the Zungle Lynx and the Zungle Viper.
The shades are Zungle’s second attempt at making smart sunglasses and they come with a host of improvements over the original.
Being marketed as a way to “maximize your outdoor activity,” the glasses let users listen to music, make hands-free calls and access their phones’ virtual assistant.
There are no headphones or speakers on the glasses, but they instead use bone-conduction to create sound by vibrating your skull. To play music, the glasses connect to your phone using Bluetooth 5.0 technology. The company does note that there may be some sound leakage when music is played on high volumes.
The left arm of the glasses also features a small button that will trigger Google Assistant or Siri depending on the phone that’s connected.
There are two different versions of Zungle’s glasses, but only one real aesthetic option. The Viper model is a little bit more square and the Lynx design is a bit more rounded.
The glasses are currently up for pre-order for a reduced price of $109.99 USD (around $140 CAD), which is about 50 percent off of the full retail price of $229.97 USD (around $284 CAD).
