NHL, DoorDash partner on ‘Puck Drop promotions,’ marketing

The Puck Drop promos could net customers up to 30 per cent off

DoorDash and the National Hockey League (NHL) have announced a multiyear North American partnership that will name DoorDash the NHL’s Official On-Demand Delivery and Pickup Partner in both Canada and the US.

The exclusive deal begins immediately and marks the service’s first NHL partnership.

Under the agreement, DoorDash notes it gains marketing rights and NHL designations, including the use of League marks, broadcast-visible branding through the league’s Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards, and integration across NHL tentpole events like the NHL Winter Classic, the NHL Stadium Series, and a presence throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

DoorDash will also be at the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic in Winnipeg on October 25, 2026.

This upcoming NHL season kicks off with a dedicated DoorDash Puck Drop promotion of up to 30 percent off starting on Sept. 29, 2026, the first day of the 2026-2027 season, followed by game night deals every Wednesday and Saturday for the entire NHL regular season.

Interestingly, DoorDash has also noted that it has become the presenting sponsor of all Wednesday night regular-season and playoff NHL games on Prime Video in Canada.

DoorDash said that it will soon announce a new NHL creative platform across North America, along with additional promotions and sweepstakes.
