The 2026 Canadian Game Awards has found its hosts, and they’re out of this world.
Canadian actors Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer, the voices of the female and male versions of Commander Shepard in BioWare Edmonton’s beloved Mass Effect games, will host this year’s ceremony. Hale and Meer recorded a brief video together to share the news, and naturally, it’s full of fun Mass Effect references.
Organized by producer Carl-Edwin Michel, the 2026 Canadian Game Awards will take place on May 21 at Toronto’s John W.H. Bassett Theatre at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This coincides with the XP Game Summit conference in the city.
The ceremony will take place at 8 p.m. ET on May 21, with doors opening at 4 p.m. for the Eh! Game Showcase, an event that will feature all kinds of playable demos from Canadian developers.
Tickets to the Canadian Game Awards are available on the show’s official website. The show will also be streamed via the official CGA YouTube and Twitch channels.
Additionally, check out our round-up of all of the nominees, which include the likes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Hell is Us and South of Midnight.
In related news, The Long Dark, another popular Canadian game also starring Hale and Meer, just launched its fifth and final narrative episode.
