Google has detailed how it’s using AI to combat scams across Search, Chrome and Android.
In Search, AI detects and blocks hundreds of results every day. Google has released an additional report, “Fighting Scams in Search,” which shows how the company has invested in its AI-powered scam detection systems, enabling it to catch 20 times the number of scams.
Additionally, Chrome’s Enhanced Protection mode offers the highest level of protection, reportedly keeping users twice as safe from phishing and other scams as the Standard Protection mode. The company also uses Gemini Nano on desktops, providing another layer of protection against online scams.
Further, Google is fighting spam on Android with new AI-powered warnings on Chrome. Chrome’s on-device machine learning model will flag a notification, and you’ll get an alert with the option to unsubscribe or view the blocked content.
