Apple announces ‘Scary Fast’ October 30 event: New Macs are coming

We'll probably see a 24-inch iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro and a new 13-inch MacBook Air

Apple has announced a surprise special event set for later this month.

It’s still unclear, but it’s believed the October 30th event will focus on new Macs, likely including the 24-inch iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and, possibly, a new 13-inch MacBook Air. It’s expected that Apple will also reveal its long-rumoured M3 chip, which makes sense in the context of the ‘Scary Fast’ name for this event.

While the event’s invite features a static Apple logo, its actual page features an animated GIF where the Apple logo turns into a dark version of the Finder app.

Strangely, Apple’s ‘Scary Fast’ event will be streamed at 5pm PT/8pm ET, making this one of the few times the tech giant has aired an event in the evening.

It’s important to note that this event will be entirely virtual. At the tech giant’s last event, Apple revealed its iPhone 15 lineup, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case.
