This article is late because I was wasting time on Twitter.
The caveat, of course, is that my delay is by design. Tech addiction – and the inability to disconnect – is not a bug, it’s a feature. And as we are starting to learn, it’s a feature that the major tech companies now optimize for.
This is a tough realization for those of us old enough to remember the ‘Before Times,’ when digital engagement was a matter of choice. But what about digital natives, those being born into a tech world trying to keep them addicted? New studies indicate the results are as bad as you’d expect.
Speaking of addictive technology, Animoji’s have now entered the popular tech vocabulary. And with everything in 2017, it has already been meme’d, with Animoji Karaoke. The presentation is candy sweet, but there’s some major tech running under the hood. Does Apple have a new form of communication on its hands, or just another fad?
