I dont care much about the v30 but now I can realistically hope for an Oreo update on my G6.

Sorry LG I’m not gonna spend over $1000 for a device with another small size battery with only 3300 mAh battery. I had tried your LG G6 and was very disappointed in having to need to charge the bloody thing 2 times during the day and once during the night while I’m sleeping. Bloody hell why can’t you put in at least 5000- to 6000 mAh battery in your high end devices. Heck you put in 5000 mAh battery in your low end LG X power and x power 2. Even the Asus Zenfone 4 Max and Acer Liquid Zest Plus have 5000 mAh batteries that give a few days of use on a single charge. Bloody hell for a $1000 price tag you’d think you guys would put in very large batteries in your high end devices so that your users could get couple days of use on a single charge.

You use your phone way too much. There’s real people out there to talk to. You should try.

    • Dimitri

I use it for music, forums, texting, emailing, calling and use it most of the time for my clients ( when speaking to them on the phone)

Also remember. Having Bluetooth, WiFi and such on can cause battery drain if they keep searching for connections. So that’s one factor. Background apps which are left open can too.

    • Jon Duke

That’s fair. That’s how I use mine aswell. I thought you we’re gaming all day and they complained about battery life.

    • Anonymous Agent

Nope. I’m only an average user. A few phone calls. Texts. And little web browsing. And taking a few picture. I’m now using a Acer Liquid Zest Plus which has a larger 5000 mAh battery and i get 3 days of battery use on a single charge. These higher end phones with small 3000 mAh batteries don’t get me through a single day of use on a single charge. Batteries are to small. LG G6. Samsung s7. LG g4 and g3. Never lasted for an entire day for me. But I’m using the device the same on each device and the LG X power 2 and Acer Liquid Zest Plus give me 3 days of use on a single day go figure. Like i said if they’re able to have larger batteries in lower end phones I’m sure they could for higher end phones too, specially for the $1000 price tag.

    • Jon Duke

How is performance on the Zest Plus? I need a cheap unlocked phone and saw it at Costco but I’m scared to buy it cause reviews are so so.

    • Anonymous Agent

It’s pretty decent. I’m actually surprised how I’m liking it.

    • Elky64

Totally agree, no reason why they can’t introduce larger batteries yet they seem to have strayed away from that aspect for now – last time I heard the battery is what makes it a “mobile” device no.

Yup, pay a premium yet in many senses giving us less, IMHO. Think I’m going to move down a notch or two and go your route, my usage is quite similar. Starting to gag every time a new flagship arrives because for the price still don’t think were getting the value for our money. Then you have “possible” issues with say, the screen, this should not even be a concern on a $1000+ phone.

    • Can’t Fix Stupid

The V20 may be your friend!

    • Elky64

Oh I’m good, got four phones w/removable batteries. More the point being, if you want the latest and greatest in regards to specs but with a removable battery, then you’re pretty much SOL.

This is the information from Rogers.

“Although it will not be in stock at our Rogers Branded retail locations, it will be available through our representatives, for hardware upgrade orders and activations, whether it is via phone or Live Chat. Check our website contactus for more information on how to reach our agents.

You can also place orders at Rogers website, as well as through one of our Partner retail locations.
This includes Wireless Wave, Tbooth Wireless, Bestbuy and The Source.

You will also have the option to reserve this device and have it shipped to the Rogers Branded retail location of your choosing, for pick up.”

It sucks u can’t get it at the store unless u order it or reserve it.

    • Druter

Oh what? Are you serious? What the hell Rogers?

    • Dimitri

Yup. This was posted directly by a Rogers MOD on their forums.

Seems to me that they don’t want this phone in their Rogers corporate stores and you will be forced to order it online or over the phone to get it.

    • Rose

      Thanks for pointing this out!

    • Dimitri

      You are welcome 🙂

    • will

IS the front facing camera that disappointing?

    • Felix

Yes and no. It’s perfectly fine, but the processing software isn’t the best. However, an update can fix that. My info came from reddit so take it as you will

  • Ernie

Nothing on Koodo site yet. See on bell.

  • Elky64

Another Henry Ford moment “Any customer can have a phone painted any colour that he wants so long as it is silver”.

  • will

    Glad to see all Canadian lte bands are supported, 2 4 5 7 12 13 17 29 30

    • Techguru86

      you forgot band 66

    • will

Yes, I did forget that one

  • Ipse

Nice going Videotron….after trying to be the first to offer the V20, now you’re missing from the list.

    • will

Also upset because Virgin isn’t carrying it.
Lets say I ask someone to buy out right on Bell, incase of warranty do I deal directly with LG or my friend will have deal with Bell?

  • tvguy

Just purchased at Telus. If the screen quality is as bad as many review sites are saying, or there are any display issues in low light, this puppy is heading right back to the store within the 30 day return window.

    • will

Was there any on display in-store?

    • tvguy

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I purchased online.

    • Dimitri

Can’t that be fixed with a software or firmware update? If so then I would wait.

If it can not be fixed that way then return it.

    • tvguy

Yes, I’m going to give it 29 days. If screen sucks or software doesn’t fix, it’ll go back for a refund. On a side note, I’m hoping it has fm radio enabled.

  • tvguy

If anyone gets the V20 today, please let me know if the FM chip is enabled. Cheers.

    • Joseph

It was on freedom when I had it.

    • tvguy

Oops, I meant V30. Althoufh I should receive Monday.

  • Ernie

It’s up on Koodo site now.

  • Poodz

Rose, you should clarify that many stores won’t sell you the phone “outright”, you need to be on a plan. It’s very difficult to go to the store and just buy the phone.

  • Ernie

Is the LG V30 worth upgrading from a Nexus 6p?

    • thomas nguyen

Yes, coming from a guy upgrading from his Nexus 6p

    • Detroit Lions fan

No phone is worth $1000.00 Bucks

    • Efren Castillo

Phones has evolved into something more than just telephones. Lots of choices out there for people who don’t require the extra or better features.

  • will

So whish virgin would sell it

  • downhilldude

    What’s the GWP for pre-orders?

  • Francis Taquin

  • Efren Castillo

No other color options except silver cloud in Canada? I was expecting I could get it in blue! Maybe I should wait…

  • bloodless

Why can’t we buy this thing UNLOCKED ?

    • tvguy

You have 2 options. Purchase unlocked at B&H Oct 27. Or wait until Dec 1 when all carriers in Canada must unlock your device, and sell devices unlocked.

    • will

Although te us unlocked version won’t support all bands that the Canadian version does
