In the battle for app market supremacy it’s Apple that still dominates. Although this chart does put things into perspective. Currently Apple has 350,000 apps in the App Store compared to Android’s 250,000. But over the past few months with the global adoption of Android it seems that Google’s vision of world domination will eventually happen. It’s just a matter of when. The rate that developers are submitting apps to the Android market is far greater than the App Store. Since October 2010 there has been an increase of 150,000 apps in the Android Market, while the iPhone App Store has only 65,000 (since October 2010). RIM’s BlackBerry App World and Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace are nowhere close but are competing for 3rd and 4th spot.
