After updating its Android app with (almost) tablet support earlier this week, the popular microblogging service has released an update to its iOS app with iPad compatibility.
The iOS update is quite a bit more bespoke, providing tablet users a radial composition bar, landscape support and a host of performance improvements ported over from the native iPhone version released earlier in the year. There’s a permanent left-side menu bar that provides context wherever you are in the app, and the compose screen even supports Markdown. There’s also a brand new Explore tab which displays trending or popular curated content from around the network.
If you’re a heavy Tumblr user, definitely check out the excellent new app for iPad.
