Folding iPhone Ultra still on track for September: report

Rumours about delays seem to be wrong

iphone 17 pro and pro max review

It looks like September might be my Christmas after all.

The Elec reports that Apple has finalized the key specifications for the foldable iPhone Ultra, and it’s expected to go into mass production by the end of July. This schedule means that the iPhone Ultra is still on track for September, even after some have reported issues with the hinge.

Previously, rumours suggested that Apple had issues with the hinge, but the outlet indicates that these issues have now been mostly resolved. The iPhone Ultra has passed the final verification stage, which means that its hinge is more durable.

Other reports also indicate that Apple has approved a mass shipment of foldable display units made by Samsung Display.

Apple might unveil the iPhone Ultra at its September event; however, some have reported that the phone might not go on sale for a bit little longer. Apple is also expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in September as well, while the iPhone Air and iPhone 18 won’t come out until 2027.
