These updates are still on the way

During WWDC 26 Apple revealed a lot of new features coming of iOS 27, including a new Siri, child safety protocols, a new way to make Shortcuts and more, but according to the well known Mark Gurman some features were missing.

Gurman says that one of the new features coming is a customizable camera app. The app would let you rearrange camera controls like flash, exposure, depth of field, styles and more.

Siri extensions is another feature predicted for iOS 27 that didn’t make WWDC. Siri extensions would let third-party chat bots like Gemini and Claude to integrate with Siri and Apple Intelligence. Currently, iOS supports ChatGPT, which allows users to throw to either Siri or ChatGPT when asking a question. Currently there’s already an Extension section in iOS 27 developer beta, but ChatGPT is the only option. This section reads “iPhone can use ChatGPT to help you write text, create an image, answer questions and more. With this update you’d be able to replace ChatGPT with something like Gemini. It’s possible that Apple skipped this update to shine more attention on its own AI.

The last feature in question is modular watch faces. This would come in the form of a simple watch face that you could customize. This is currently only available on the Watch Ultra.
