Lego and Sega partner up for a new set release

A blast from the past in a nearly 500-piece build

Grab your chilli dogs and get ready for blast processing because Sega and Lego have announced a collab bringing a classic console to your next building session.

Sega and Lego announced a Sega Genesis set coming in June. The US$39.99 (C$54.47) set will be a slightly scaled-down model of the original Sega Genesis, complete with a Sonic and Tails Lego cartridge.

The nearly 480-piece set can be built in two different ways: either as the American-released Sega Genesis or the original Sega Mega Drive released in Japan. Both builds come with two mini controllers, a Sonic easter egg hidden within the build, and stickers to decorate the set and truly recreate the legacy consoles.

Whether the console becomes a retro-gaming decor piece, a gift for the retro gamer friend in your group or the next family build project, the Lego Sega Genesis will be available for purchase on June 1, 2026.
