The 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards will return to Tokyo, Japan, on May 23. The tenth anniversary of the event will have an orange carpet, performances and honouring nominees across 32 anime categories.
Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira will return as the co-hosts for the fourth year in a row.
Yoko Takashi will perform a 30th anniversary tribute to 1995’s seminal anime Neon Evangelion with a performance from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. More performances will be announced in the future.
Nominees will be revealed on April 2 with the start of fan voting; ahead of the voting, the first full list of categories can be found on the Crunchyroll Anime Awards site. Eligible titles had to come premiered between January 1 and December 31.
As a big fan of anime, I’m excited to see which anime will get snuffed and which will give them the Frieren treatment and win many categories.
