Hospital patients in Barrie, Midland and Orangeville will be able to view their records in the Apple Health app now that the four hospitals in those regions use ‘my health’ to store records.
The four Ontario hospitals included in the upgrade are the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Midland’s Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, as well as the Georgian Bay General Hospital, and Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville.
To add your records to your phone or iPad, open the Health app and tap on your profile picture in the top right-hand corner. From there, you should see an option called ‘Health Records.’ When you open that, there will be a blue button letting you add accounts. Select your hospital, log in, and you should be able to see all your test results and other records.
So far, only 15 hospitals in Canada support Apple’s Health app. In the U.S., over a hundred hospitals or clinics support the feature.
If you want to see your records on your iPad, open the sidebar. On an iPhone running iOS 18 or older, open the ‘Browse’ option. Once you upgrade to iOS 26 this fall, you’ll need to open the search interface, but don’t search for anything, and then scroll down until you see your records.
Overall, this makes it a lot easier to keep track of all your health data. One of the perks of having the records in your Health app is it also makes them extremely easy to share with family members without needing to share login information.
