Update April 2, 2025 at 1:54 p.m. ET: Public extended its $29/50GB plan by a couple of days. It’s now slated to end on April 2 instead of March 31. That gives people a little more time to grab the plan before it’s gone.

Public Mobile rolled out a $29/50GB 4G plan to match an offer from Fizz Mobile.
The Telus-owned wireless provider added the plan to its website just a day after Fizz launched its own limited-time $29/50GB offer. Like Fizz, Public’s plan is only available until March 31.
The plan includes 50GB of 4G data (up to 100Mbps speeds) and unlimited Canada-wide talk and text. Public is also offering a free eSIM card when activating, or customers can pay $5 for a physical SIM. (Speaking from personal experience, buy the cheap SIM card if you can because Public will charge you every time you want to transfer your eSIM from one phone to another.)
Public’s plan includes standard features like call display, voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding and conference calling as well.
Overall, the offers from Fizz and Public are very similar, but it’s worth noting that Fizz is only available in some locations, so depending on where you live, Public might be your only option.
It’s also worth considering some of Public’s other plan options. For example, customers who don’t need 50GB but would like faster data and/or North American roaming could go for Public’s $29/20GB Canada/U.S./Mexico 5G plan. Public also has $35/60GB and $45/100GB options with North American roaming and 5G data.
All of the above plans also include a free third month (offer ends March 31) and a chance to win a trip for two to Mexico.
