Pixel can tell you if your phone is too hot

You'll see if your phone is Cold, Normal, Warm or Elevated

The Pixel will finally check the temperature of your handset using its diagnostic tool.

To do this, you have to head to Settings > Battery > Battery diagnostics and then select the Phone is very warm option, which will reveal a Device temperature section. This section will show your Pixel’s current temperature, alongside whether it’s in the Cold, Normal, Warm or Elevated category.

You’ll also get the following temperature readings, reports 9to5Google:

  • “Your phone’s estimated temperature is lower than normal. It may shut down suddenly.”
  • “This estimated temperature is typical with normal phone use.”
  • “Your phone is slightly warm, but this is normal during use. To prevent further temperature increases, screen brightness and network speeds may be reduced.”
  • “Your phone is slightly warm, but this is normal during use. To prevent further temperature increases, charging is paused, and screen brightness and network speeds may be reduced.”
  • “Your phone’s estimated temperature is higher than normal. Your phone will try to cool down by temporarily limiting performance and pausing certain features.”

Live temperature is available with version 1.0.693922709 of the Pixel Troubleshooting app. Knowing your phone’s warmth is great to keep your phone’s battery at optimal levels.

This is coming to the Pixel 6 series through the Pixel 9 series.
