Shenzhen, China-based OnePlus makes some excellent Android hardware. However, some standard features that are available in other devices have been seemingly missing in OnePlus’ recent flagships.
For example, the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus Open don’t feature wireless charging, which has become a large point of criticism, especially when you’re spending $999 and $2,300 on the devices, respectively.
However, it seems that OnePlus is listening to the feedback and is planning to introduce wireless charging in its next flagship, the OnePlus 12.
The information was shared by leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, via Android Authority, who said the upcoming flagship will have 50W wireless charging.
Additionally, the OnePlus 12 will reportedly feature other improvements, such as USB 3.2, a periscope zoom camera, and an IR blaster, which could make the OnePlus 12 a more ‘complete’ and compelling flagship, especially when compared to its predecessor.
Elsewhere, Android Authority suggests that the device will likely run on the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, have a large amount of RAM and storage, a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired charging, and more.
It’s worth noting that these are early leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt. The launch of the OnePlus 12 is still a few months away, so we will have to wait and see if the leaks turn out to be true.
